Join us in supporting vulnerable children
As a community we have collective responsibility for children's well-being, rights, and humanity.
The children we work with are often victims of abuse or neglect and deserve an opportunity to turn a page in their life.
Will you join us in supporting them to get their lives back on track?

How your donation helps
Your donation will empower our youth workers to support young people through specialised services and financial support to achieve their goals.
Sometimes you need someone in your corner to support you through difficult circumstances.
Our support is life changing.

Practical financial support
Aside from our support services, we may also provide young people with essential items to help them achieve their goals, for example your donation may fund:
$30 - Essential groceries
$50 – Hygiene products
$100 – Identification e.g. learners licence, passport
$200 – Sporting club fees or a school uniform
$300 – School or training fees e.g. white card, forklift course, RSA, RSG, TAFE
We support the children that the system leaves behind
With many at-risk children being victims of abuse, discrimination, drug addiction, or mental illness, they need supportive community members to assist them.
Donating to the Youth Advocacy Centre sends a message to these children that you care.

“The ongoing crisis in youth justice is a national systemic failure to protect children and young people.”
- Anne Hollonds,
National Children's Commissioner

We are failing our children
The current youth justice system does not adequately support young people to get their lives back on track and prevent further offending, and in many cases exacerbates the issue through outdated punitive practices.
Young people need support and safety to get their lives back on track - not further trauma.
The current youth justice system is inhumane, ineffective, and inefficient.
YAC is acting now to support young people and fix the system
The Youth Advocacy Centre is supporting young people across South-East Queensland right now - but we need your help. Every contribution you make to YAC will assist in giving children the crucial support and care they need to flourish.

Our Philosophy
YAC seeks to provide an holistic response to the issues a young person is facing and, where appropriate, we use a multidisciplinary approach whereby YAC’s legal and social welfare staff work collaboratively to assist with the diverse needs of the young person.
