Vale James Benjamin

We are deeply saddened to have learnt of the passing of barrister James Benjamin last week.

James was an outstanding advocate for young people involved in the youth justice and children protection systems in Queensland. James worked at Legal Aid, including as a valued member of the youth team, before going to the private bar where he continued to advocate for the rights of young people.

Consistent with James’ passion for young people’s access to justice, he kindly requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to YAC. We have been very touched by this thoughtfulness and are grateful to James for considering YAC and the young people we support. Thank you, James.
